As many of you know, one of my pandemic projects (and bucket list items) has been to write book, which I’ve excerpted from on this newsletter. The book, One to Ten: Finding Your Way from Startup to Scaleup, is launching today!
Please can I ask your support for the launch? Take 30 seconds and leave a review on Amazon. This is the single most impactful way to support new books and will ensure that it can reach others that may find it helpful. Even better if you purchase it - we’ve priced the e-book at $0.99 this week to make it accessible to all - so it’s a Verified Review.
On to the book: I originally started writing a different book, to teach first time B2B founders about enterprise sales. As I got into it, I realized the lessons learned and frameworks I had to share went beyond just sales to other aspects of growing a startup. I went on to realize that, while there’s much that’s been written about the earliest phase of a startup, going from “Zero to One”, there’s a comparative dearth of material to cover the growing pains phase. A phase I’m calling One to Ten.
The One to Ten phase is hard, arguably the hardest part of scaling. And once you get to Ten, you can get to a Hundred, and beyond. Why? You’ve built the muscle to delegate, to create a company operating system that can deliver product and sell to customers, to translate your vision into action. In fact, I recently caught up with the founder of a company that recently went public at a multi-billion $ valuation and asked him what the hardest phase was. His answer? Getting to $10 M in revenue. :)
I’ll continue to cover lessons and stories related to the One to Ten phase here. In the meantime, I’d be grateful for your support of the book via a review.
Onwards!
