Hard to believe the year is more than half over. Hopefully you ended Q2 on a high note. If you’re not already, schedule some time for yourself and your team to reflect on the first half of the year:
What has gone well? What hasn’t gone well?
What key assumptions for your 2021 Plan need to be updated?
What are your key learnings and what changes do you need to make for the rest of the year?
Be sure to categorize your reflections and changes into both tactical/operational and strategic. For the latter, summer is also a good time to do off-sites and strategy updates (especially helpful with interns doing research!) that will eventually inform next year’s plan, bearing in mind that you’ll only have 3 - 4 months’ of data before needing to put together the budget and plan for 2022. Better get cracking. But first, take a breather and recharge your batteries.
Happy 4th to those that celebrate it!

Why Lead Velocity Rate is the most important metric in SaaS. While bookings are more of a leading indicator than recognized revenue, lead velocity is even more of a leading indicator. That said, this works less well in big ticket enterprise sales where there are only so many deals to go after.
